PATIENT CARE ASSOCIATE
Over the past five years there has been a continual increase in the number of patients in need of long-term care. The Patient Care Associate provides a range of frontline care to these patients. Graduates from this program will have attained the 25 basic nursing skills required to become a Certified Nurses Aide and will also receive certifications in CPR and First Aid. Additionally students will learn the basics of EKG and phlebotomy, providing them the ability to attain jobs in a hospital setting. Students will also learn how to transfer their skills to a home care setting and find employment as a Home Health Aide.

ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE
Most vocations in the United States require a mastery of the English language as a pre-requisite to being hired. Stone Academy?s English As A Second Language program is intended to enhance the English language proficiency for students that have pre-existing vocational knowledge. This program is available in four different levels consisting of four courses per level.

LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSING
Nursing is well known as a growing and evolving industry which provides excellent career opportunities for students willing to step up to a rigorous program of study. Our Licensed Practical Nursing program prepares students to contribute to the plan of care for individual patients in both acute and long-term care settings. Graduates are eligible to sit for the State of Connecticut licensure exam, the NCLEX-PN. Licensed Practical Nurses will find the majority of jobs in long-term care facilities, home care, rehabilitation centers and hospice facilities.
